What Safeguarding Means to Us

Safeguarding is at the heart of the STEMpower Through Art project. We are committed to creating a safe, respectful and inclusive environment where every young person feels protected, valued and supported.

All project activities — online and in-person — are designed to prioritise the wellbeing, dignity and rights of children and young people, regardless of background, ability or individual needs.

Our Safeguarding Commitment

Our safeguarding approach is based on clear principles shared by all partner organisations in Greece, Türkiye and Hungary. We apply a zero-tolerance approach to any form of abuse, neglect, discrimination or unsafe behaviour.

We are committed to:

  • protecting the physical and emotional wellbeing of young participants

  • ensuring respectful and appropriate behaviour by all adults involved

  • promoting inclusion, accessibility and equal participation

  • responding promptly and responsibly to any safeguarding concern

How We Keep Young People Safe

To ensure a safe learning environment, the project applies the following safeguarding measures:

  • All educators, mentors and staff complete Child Protection & Ethics Training

  • Clear codes of conduct apply to all adults working with young people

  • Safe and child-friendly learning spaces are ensured in all activities

  • Online sessions follow strict safety and supervision rules

  • Personal data is handled in line with GDPR requirements

  • Inclusion and accessibility needs are actively supported

Reporting & Support

Any safeguarding concern, disclosure or unsafe situation is taken seriously and addressed immediately following the project’s safeguarding procedures.

A designated Child Protection Officer (CPO) is responsible for receiving concerns, ensuring appropriate action and supporting partners throughout the process.
